Dr. Lewis

Why Did You Want to Become an Orthodontist?

When Dr. Lewis started college, she, like a lot of undergrads, didn’t really know what she wanted to do for her career. Then, on one sunny spring day, she was walking across a wooded part of campus, and it suddenly struck her like a bolt of lightning: dentistry, specifically orthodontics, would be perfect for her! It would allow her to combine her love for art and science with her desire to help people, all while allowing for a healthy work/life balance.

Where Did You Study Orthodontics?

After graduating from Louisiana State University, Dr. Lewis enrolled at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where she eventually earned her dental degree. She then completed a residency at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, obtaining a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree as well as her certificate in orthodontics.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

At home, Dr. Lewis primarily spends her free time simply relaxing with her husband, Joe, and their big orange cat, Cid. She loves escape rooms and has probably “escaped” from over 100 in a variety of cities and countries. She also likes to travel, during which she often dresses up in costumes to attend conventions. Her more laid-back hobbies include playing games (video games as well as tabletop/board games), going to the movies, reading (mostly sci-fi and fantasy), and trying new restaurants.
